Aeration, as the word itself says, introduces air into the soil, which is necessary for a healthy root system of the grass. It is natural for plants to get water from rain, and in fact, by watering abundantly from the hose, the excess water quickly passes into the deeper layers of the soil, and does not remain long enough in the layer of the root system that ornamental plants need. Lawn sprinklers also make a big difference in lawn irrigation because they water with tiny droplets at a set time interval so that the grass gets enough water in its shallow root system, while inadequate watering with a hose can create puddles of water, which leads to mud in the lawn, insufficient air in the roots and the potential development of diseases and the appearance of weeds, and thus the failure of the lawn.
